Senior Advisor and Author

I work with senior healthcare leaders who are responsible for quality, safety, and performance across a system. They have improvement projects, dashboards, strategies, and trained people and now want to accelerate their results at scale and systemize their activity.

I work alongside leaders as an improvement science scholar-practitioner and advisor. We use your real improvement work to understand the organization, strengthen capability, and connect strategy to the system of improvement. I help you do the right work and learn deeply about your organization.

I bring more than 25 years of applied improvement experience in quality improvement. I have served as a chief quality officer, advised healthcare and public sector leaders in North American and internationally, and held senior leadership and advisory roles with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. I co-authored Quality as an Organizational Strategy and The QOS Field Guide with Lloyd Provost and Cliff Norman.

The work I enjoy most is direct, hands-on advising with a small number of healthcare executive teams.
